Professional Experience

Peter Jansen joined CBRE in 2010 to assist in the development of the Public Institutions and Education Solutions national practice group and focuses exclusively on representing clients in this space. The majority of client engagements include developing strategic real estate management plans and executing transactions that arise from those plans. Mr. Jansen has advised clients across the country, including the Cities of Reno, Sacramento, Austin, and Houston, as well as the States of Maryland, Kansas, and Texas. Notable engagements include a 115,000 sq. ft. tenant representation assignment for the State of Maryland, a 400,000-sq.-ft. consolidation for the State of Connecticut, and advising the Teachers Retirement System of Texas on its 250,000-sq.-ft. headquarters strategy.

In addition to his transaction and consulting efforts, he supports the Public Institutions group in business development around the country and is experienced in the public procurement process from both the issuer and respondent perspective.

In 2013, he relocated to Austin, Texas to focus on representing public sector clients regionally. He is currently providing tenant representation services to the Texas Facilities Commission, and providing consulting and disposition services to TxDOT, the Independent School Districts of Austin and Dallas, and the counties of Dallas and Hays. Recent transactions include the representation of TxDOT in the disposition of a $25M, 18-acre asset in Houston and the Office of Attorney General in a 65,000-sq.-ft. consolidation of 8 leased locations in San Antonio. Mr. Jansen has led engagements with the Employee Retirement System of Texas, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, and Dallas Independent School District that holistically evaluated their long-term occupancy strategies, including alternative workplace strategies, asset monetization, and life-cycle costs. Previously, Peter advised non-profit and institutional clients on alternative-asset investment management strategies.
