With more than 20 years of experience representing occupiers of commercial real estate, Ham provides strategic real estate advice and real estate acquisition and disposition services to technology companies and law firms around the world.

After graduating from Yale and the University of Virginia School of Law, Ham worked as a corporate and real estate attorney at Pillsbury Winthrop LLP and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP. He acted as outside real estate counsel for companies like Cisco Systems, Veritas Software and Solectron, helping his clients lease, purchase, finance, develop, restructure and dispose of millions of square feet of office and industrial space worldwide. Ham’s practice group was widely regarded as the world leader in corporate off-balance sheet financing.

As outside counsel to Exodus Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXDS), the world’s leading data center company, Ham negotiated the acquisition of millions of square feet of industrial land and buildings for data center use. In 2000, Exodus recruited Ham to manage its global real estate activities. As Exodus’s VP Business Development/Real Estate, Ham was one of the world’s leading data center/real estate experts, acquiring properties in the United States, Asia and Europe and managing an 11.6 million square foot, 116 location global real estate portfolio. In this role, he closed over $160 million in CMBS and synthetic lease financings, integrated more than 3.6 million square feet of space acquired through merger activity and, ultimately, managed the reorganization of Exodus’ real estate portfolio including the sale of over $120 million of surplus real and personal property and 4.4 million square feet of leased and owned property.

Married to Mary Kathryn Kelley and father to Hamilton (an engineer at SpaceX), William (a cadet at West Point) and Luisa (a student at Santa Clara University), Ham enjoys (or used to enjoy) travel, running, reading, snow skiing, road biking, the occasional triathlon and podcasts (Hardcore History or Revisionist History, anyone?).
