•Toronto’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 10.7% between November and December of 2020 as Ontario mandates a second state of emergency in an effort expedite the economic recovery.

 

•Sublease space in Downtown Toronto continued to return to the market as the total currently available sublease sq. ft. increased 74.4% from approximately 1.3 million  sq. ft. in Q3 2020 to over 2.3 million sq. ft. in Q4 2020.

 

•In one of the more prominent deals of 2020, Amazon signed on for 130,000 sq. ft. at 18 York Street and 120 Bremner Boulevard as major tech occupiers continue to expand their footprint in Downtown Toronto.

 

•1908 Iron Oak Way completed construction in the Toronto West market in Q4 2020. The Class B development by Carttera is introducing 47,000 sq. ft. of office space to the Oakville submarket.
