After a bleak year in 2020, the Sacramento retail market enters the new year with growing optimism on economic recovery. The California Department of Public Health announced earlier this year that all counties in the Greater Sacramento metro area (Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, and Yolo counties) would be moving to less restrictive tiers in its COVID-19 reopening plan. This has now allowed for these counties to return to 25% capacity for indoor retailers like restaurants, gyms, and movie theaters. Adding to a positive outlook, the Sacramento region has also distributed just over 860,000 doses of the vaccine and 22.4% of Sacramento County adults have received at least one dose.
