Dealmakers: Largest Warehouse Leases in 2017
E-commerce companies accounted for 43% of the total square footage leased in the 50 largest warehouse deals last year. Thirty of these top-50 leases were for warehouses sized 1 million sq. ft. or more, reflecting demand for modern buildings that have become larger and taller in recent years. By square footage, 82% of leasing activity by tenants was for new or relocated warehouse operations. Geographically, these transactions were spread across 20 markets, with the Philadelphia region and Dallas/Ft. Worth having the highest concentration of deals.
