As a Senior Manager in Client Strategy and Consulting, Steve Gardner provides support to CBRE’s Global Corporate Services Transaction Management Hub senior staff. Since joining the firm in 2013, he has quickly become an integral part of the Hub’s team of strategic consulting and transaction management professionals, overseeing portfolio optimization functions and BAU analysts, while also delivering customized, innovative workplace solutions for a New Jersey-based, Fortune 100 client.
An innovative strategy consultant and business development/marketing professional, Mr. Gardner has more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President and the Director of Marketing, Research and Business Development for DTZ. While there, he supervised the firm’s marketing and research activities in the New York Metro Area, provided business development support and strategic guidance for 14 brokers, and coordinated recruiting efforts and broker training.
Prior to DTZ, Mr. Gardner was a Vice President and Director of Marketing for J.G. Petrucci Co. in Asbury, New Jersey, managing the company’s internal, property and web marketing activities, as well as event planning and public relations efforts. Before that, as a founding partner of Waterfall Capital Partners, Mr. Gardner conducted feasibility and marketing analyses, sourced new hire candidates, and developed business plans for capital funding and potential acquisitions. He has also served as Director of Marketing/Research at Jones Lang LaSalle and Trammell Crow Company, and as a Vice President at SJP Properties, where he specialized in leasing and marketing trophy assets in the New Jersey market. Mr. Gardner began his career in the industry with Harper-Lawrence (a division of the Lawrence Ruben Company) as a real estate salesperson.
