Professional Experience

In September 2018, CBRE Group, Inc. (NYSE: CBRE) acquired CB Richard Ellis-N.E. Partners, L.P. (CBRE/New England), a long-standing joint venture with Whittier Partners Group and the leading full-service commercial real estate services operation in New England.

Mr. Butler is a Vice Chairman/Partner at CBRE/New England leading the New England Multi-housing Investment Sales team. He most recently served as Executive Director with Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.'s Capital Markets Group having joined in October 2006. Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., Mr. Butler was with CBRE/NE as a member of the Investment Properties Group. Since January of 1996, he has dedicated his focus to the marketing of apartment communities and was included as a member of CBRE Multi-housing Group. Since rejoining CBRE/NE, Mr. Butler has been elected to CBRE's Institutional Group.

Simon has most recently closed on a 280-unit apartment community in Westborough, MA and a 180-unit apartment community in North Providence, RI. Other notable sales in both 2015 and 2014 include a 240-unit luxury apartment community in Stoughton, MA; 280-unit apartment community in Methuen, MA; 238-unit apartment community in Chelsea, MA; a 562-unit apartment building in Westborough, MA; a 155-unit apartment building in Watertown, MA; a 264-unit apartment portfolio in Billerica and Chelmsford, MA; and a 339-unit apartment community in Groton, CT. To date during his career, Mr. Butler has sold over 70,000 multi-housing units for a total consideration in excess of $9.5 billion. This activity has kept him in front of investors seeking multi-housing investments in the New England market. Simon was named to the “Top 200” sales professionals nationwide for CBRE in 1997, 2000, 2004, and 2005. Simon was also named as one of the “Top 100” sales professionals nationally for Cushman & Wakefield in 2007 and from 2012-2014 and 2016-2017 for CBRE. From 2008 -2011, Simon was the #1 apartment sales professional for C&W. In 2013, Simon was the #2 apartment sales professional for CBRE.
