Professional Experience
Phil is a member of CBRE's West LA team where he specializes in strategic consulting and transaction services for tech, consumer and VC clients on a local & global basis. As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of LayJax Ventures (layjaxventures.com), Phil brings a unique perspective to brokerage—merging first-hand knowledge of what’s most important to founders and executive teams [at all growth-stages] with a passion for the commercial real estate business. At the center of his advisory approach is a drive and acumen to help his clients make the best real estate decisions by enhancing value, managing risk and reducing costs.
Phil has a noteworthy entrepreneurial and entertainment-focused background that he adeptly applies to his real estate investments and client relationships. He began his entrepreneurial career as Co-Founder of the hit social-networking app 'Pheed'. Leading the nascent app's growth, Phil opened 'The Pheed House' on Mulholland Drive, a content creation hub for artists and tastemakers. Pheed became the #1 downloaded app in both the Google Play and Apple App Stores ahead of Facebook and Twitter, and was eventually acquired by Mobli Media, Inc. (after just 18 months of operation). Following Pheed's acquisition, Phil was appointed Head of U.S. Operations at Mobli, where he elaborated on the Pheed House model and opened 'The Beach House' (#moblibeachhouse) on the Venice Boardwalk—a content creation hub for creative digital media, music production, and live events. He also co-founded the viral app ‘Yo!’, which was one of the most talked about apps in Silicon Valley when it launched, supported by Silicon Valley titan Marc Andreessen and economist Joachim Fels of Morgan Stanley.
