Olivier Gompel is Managing Director and Advisory Practice Leader – Midwest for CBRE Hotels, working out of CBRE’s offices in Chicago. He brings 25 years of hospitality industry experience as both a third-party consultant and managing Feasibility for a major global brand family.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Gompel worked for Hyatt Hotels Corp for 12 years. There, he built the company’s feasibility department and oversaw all feasibility analyses worldwide, leading a global team of 21 associates and supervising the analysis of over 5000 development opportunities worldwide. During his tenure with Hyatt, Mr. Gompel personally underwrote $2.5 billion in acquisitions and $3 billion in corporate owned, new-build developments, and was directly involved in underwriting projects in more than 35 countries.
Mr. Gompel also supported Hyatt’s internal asset management of more than 50 owned hotels, handled underwriting of capital and expansion projects and helped with optimization strategies for guestroom inventory and project amenities.
Prior to Hyatt, Mr. Gompel worked in the International Hospitality & Leisure Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and as an Advisory and Asset Management Associate with JLL Hotels in the Paris, London and Miami offices. Olivier began his career working in operations for various hotels, including Hotel Ritz in Paris and Le Meridien in Boston, MA.
