Nick is an Associate with the Real Estate Advisory Services Group of CBRE Chicago. The Advisory Services Group assists municipalities, institutions, nonprofits and corporations, developers and owners by creating viable real estate strategies and successfully implementing those strategies.
Nick is involved in development and transaction assignments. He utilizes his background in economics, public policy, public-private partnerships, development, negotiations and finance to provide comprehensive analyses, effectively structure transactions and achieve client objectives.
Preceding his time with CBRE, Nick led transportation, telecommunications and economic development projects for the Chicago Infrastructure Trust, the country’s first municipal infrastructure bank. He was responsible for all facets of project planning and implementation. His responsibilities and activities included: feasibility and demand analysis, design and construction, procurement, marketing to prospective tenants, historic preservation, lease negotiation, financing, interaction with key City and public stakeholders, and project management.
Nick has also held several positions in public policy and governance. During the 2008 presidential campaign, he served as a Field Coordinator and Operations Manager in West Los Angeles and Nevada for the Obama Presidential Campaign, overseeing hundreds of volunteers and staff and leading outreach to constituent groups as well as GOTV strategy. Nick helped lead campaign operations and the development of the policy platforms for Gavin Newsom's s California gubernatorial campaign as well as Dan Seals' congressional campaign in Illinois' 10th district.
Nick was born and raised in Chicago. He received a Bachelor of Arts in European History and Political Philosophy from Boston University. He has also received Masters of Public Policy from the University of Chicago's Harris School, where his studies focused on economics, political science, environmental and energy policy as well infrastructure development and finance. While in school, Nick advised the Mayor of Gary, Indiana on municipal budget reform.
A devoted Chicagoan, Nick is active in the community and is involved in several volunteer and civic organizations, including the Art Institute of Chicago Community Associates. Nick is also a member of the Next Gen Associate Board for the Washington D.C. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
