Professional Experience

Michael Carmody is a sales and leasing broker with CBRE, Inc. specializing in vacant land and investment real estate assets.  Mr. Carmody represents clients in the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of general and medical office buildings, vacant land, hospitality assets, and multifamily properties.

For the past 30 years Michael Carmody has specialized in both the brokerage and appraisal of commercial real estate.  Upon graduating from college, Michael accepted a position in New York City in the Real Estate and Mortgage Division of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, which at the time was the nation's fourth largest financial institution.  Michael assisted the bank's mortgage loan department in the valuation of commercial real estate throughout the U.S.  

Among many assignments, he worked on the acquisition of a large Southeastern hotel portfolio for John Portman and the land acquisition for Donald Trump's first casino in Atlantic City.              

After four years in the Northeast, Michael returned to his native Charleston to become a commercial fee appraiser for Atlantic Appraisals, the area's largest and most designated appraisal firm.  In his 14 years with Atlantic Appraisals, Michael appraised a multitude of office, retail, and multi-family developments in Charleston and throughout South Carolina's Lowcountry.  In early 2001 Michael joined his father Brian and brother Charlie at CB Richard Ellis Carmody, LLC.  Michael applies his appraisal expertise to the brokerage world and specializes in investment properties and office leasing.  Michael resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife and their two children.
