Melinda Hamilton supports new business development and revenue growth for CBRE’s Occupier Advisory & Transaction Services division, leading the creation of strategic pursuit materials to secure significant occupier representation opportunities.
With a collaborative approach to the business development process, Melinda coaches CBRE professionals to remain client-centric and leverage the firm’s vast resources to create innovative solutions that drive value for their clients. She is an expert at helping teams translate their strategies into compelling stories that resonate with their audience.
Prior to her role on the national team, Melinda served as a writer and educator for CBRE’s Greater Los Angeles-Orange County (GLAOC) Region. She created business development content with the region’s 500+ brokerage professionals, and assisted other lines of business with the clear communication of their services and value to internal and external clients.
As an integral member of the original GLAOC Education Program, and a contributor to numerous national CBRE training initiatives, Melinda identified opportunities for formal and informal training, and facilitated the development of curriculum and course materials to take advantage of those opportunities.
Before joining CBRE in 2002, Melinda worked with the firm as a consultant for five years, providing marketing and business development strategy and content to professionals across the U.S., with an emphasis on GLAOC. Her roster of consulting clients included major multi-national corporations, such as Chevron, General Motors, Time Warner and IBM, as well as nonprofit organizations and startups.
Melinda also has extensive experience developing business plans, marketing plans and presentations to venture capitalists for varying levels of funding — as well as writing speeches for corporate executives and politicians. She began her career as an Account Manager for Time Warner in Paris, France.
