Gary Song is the Director of Transaction Management on the Starbucks Coffee Company Account; leading the CBRE Transaction Management team responsible for negotiating and renewing over 300 Starbucks retail stores per year, amending over 500 Starbucks’ leases to allow the sale of beer and wine as a part of Starbucks’ Evenings Program. Gary also manages the Starbucks’ safety initiative Site Rail Program, adding parking bollards to 250 stores in the US, he oversees the approvals with building owners and coordinates the CBRE Project Management team to complete the installation.
Gary works closely with Starbucks’ leadership to implement the Starbuck’s strategy across their real estate portfolio. Gary is instrumental in providing client solutions, securing new assignments and growing CBRE’s Starbucks account.
Gary has more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience in real estate transactions, asset and property management and commercial property accounting. Prior to joining CBRE in 2007, he was a real estate manager for Costco Wholesale based in Kirkland, WA where he oversaw an international real estate portfolio. He has held positions with Starbucks Coffee as an asset manager and held various positions within office, retail and multifamily sectors. Gary earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University.
