CBRE|Triad is pleased to announce the sale of the former Burlington Mills warehouse/manufacturing facility at 5928 N NC Highway 87 in Gibsonville, NC to Riverside Furniture. New ownership intends to convert the industrial building into its first North Carolina-based distribution facility, with plans to hire 30+ employees in the region. CBRE|Triad’s Brian Craven, David Hagan and Joe Stanley represented the seller, DFA I, LLC, in the transaction.
The former Burlington Mills facility was used for woven textile manufacturing. The building offers 279,082 square feet of manufacturing space and 15,312 square feet of office/showroom space for a total of 294,394 square feet. Located at the corner of Highway 87 and Kerr’s Chapel Road, the site is situated for easy access to both the Triad and Triangle markets.
Riverside Furniture is an American-based furniture manufacturing company. Founded in 1946, the company has grown from a single plant to warehouse locations across the world to provide furniture dealers with its product. Today, the company offers a full range of home furnishings that are sold through over 3,500 furniture dealers world-wide.
Riverside Furniture made local headlines in 2019 when the company purchased the former High Point YMCA on South Main Street. The company has been working to convert the 70,000 square foot complex into a showroom and year-round product development center. The site is expected to open this year.
