Atlanta, GA – August 31, 2016 – CBRE, Inc. announced that The Atlanta Opera, Inc. has extended their lease to remain in their current location in Building 300 at the Atlanta Technology Center in West Midtown Atlanta. The 15,559 sq. ft. office space will remain the Opera’s center of operations with the option to renew. The owner of the property, ATC Owner LLC, has owned the property since the Atlanta Opera relocated there in 2007.
The single story property includes a rehearsal area inside the space that will allow the Atlanta Opera the option to rent it out for performances, providing another form of income. It also includes the Opera’s corporate offices and a costume shop. Recent improvements include lobby and restroom finishes, video cameras, landscaping and improvements to the ample parking lot. Upgrades to the property will include a high end lighting package in the rehearsal area. The landlord will build out a back patio offering staff and visitors an outdoor area to enjoy during intermission of events.
The Atlanta Technology Center is in proximity to Midtown, I-75 and Northside Drive with convenient access to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. It is located on the path of the BeltLine’s extension, and continues to the east side of Atlanta at Ponce City Market. It will offer the Atlanta Opera the opportunity to attract those who would be utilizing the Beltline, to come back and enjoy the Center’s facilities.
“Sometimes, the best location ends up being in your backyard,” said Dale Lewis, Senior Vice President. “With property values and rental rates on the rise, especially those lacking ample parking, the Atlanta Technology Center offered the Atlanta Opera the best overall package with a prime location, right in the path of progress.”
"The opera has enjoyed these spacious, comfortable facilities for a decade now. As the company continues to focus on innovation and growth, we are excited to renew our commitment to this location as we discover new ways to integrate the company into the fabric of the city,” said Tomer Zvulun, General & Artistic Director, The Atlanta Opera. “We are looking forward to increasing the visibility of the opera studio space and making it a part of the upcoming development of the area, specifically the BeltLine."
CBRE’s Dale Lewis with the Advisory & Transaction Services team represented the tenant.
