Client Focused Landlord’s Commitment to the Columbia Market and Tenant Retention, Spurring Expansions and Renewals of Existing Tenant Base

Columbia, SC – Jan. 19, 2016 – 655 Shewsbury Partners, LLC, continues to invest in its Columbia asset, The Berkeley Building, with fervor and laser-like focus on tenant satisfaction. The Berkeley Building located in the Center Point Office Park has always been a sweetheart of the Saint Andrews submarket with its strategic location at the intersection of Interstate 20 and 26; but its stability and ability to outperform the market stems from the landlord’s client centric real estate strategy.

In the past year, six tenants comprising 39,392 sq. ft. of the over 73,000-sq.-ft. Class A office building, have chosen to stay on the property through expansion or renewal. The property is home to high-quality tenants including financial services firms, utilities, government services and education facilities. Monumental Life Insurance Company, Hubbell Power Systems, CorVel Healthcare Corporation, FDIC and Comprehensive Health Management have all elected to continue to grow their businesses within the Berkeley Building.

Demand for the highest quality space in Columbia was strong in 2015, according to the CBRE’s Q4 2015 Columbia Office MarketView. This trend did not elude owners of the Berkeley Building. The already well-maintained property has recently undergone a conversion to LED lighting throughout all suites and common areas to improve efficiency. The surrounding green space and excellent work environments will allow the Berkeley Building to continue to be a premier choice for companies to attract and retain talent.
