Tenants exceed expectations in 2016
HOUSTON (September 7, 2016) – CBRE-managed office and retail complex, Houston Center in downtown Houston, announces that over 1,800 school supply items and backpacks were collected during the 2016 Back-to-School Supply Drive benefitting Houston Independent School District’s (HISD) High School Ahead Academy. Tenants located throughout the 4.2-million-square-foot office and retail complex brought in items over a two-week period.
“On behalf of Houston ISD, Strategic Partnerships would like to thank CBRE for their generosity and commitment to help make a real difference in the life of our students that need the most,” said Dorina Carrillo with the HISD Strategic Partnerships Department. “Because of CBRE’s donation, many of our students are now ready to start the 2016-17 school year!”
The Back-to-School Supply Drive is just one of Houston Center’s philanthropy efforts for the year. For the first time, Houston Center plans to host a food drive in the fall benefiting the Houston Food Bank. During the holiday season, the complex also hosts an annual toy drive benefitting Be a Resource for CPS Kids (BEAR) where tenants may shop for a child based on their wish list. Houston Center anticipates this year’s toy drive will be another successful effort benefiting the local community.
