CBRE Supports National Law Firm in Trophy Class Office Building Lease at The Wharf
Washington, D.C. – November 16, 2016 – CBRE, Inc. assisted Fish & Richardson P.C. in the relocation of its Washington, D.C. office from McPherson Square to The Wharf at 1000 Maine Avenue, a trophy class office building set to deliver in the Southwest Waterfront of the District. The firm signed a 16-year lease, beginning in May 2018, and will occupy the top two floors of the building, totaling 59,300 sq. ft.Fish & Richardson P.C., the leading global law firm practicing in the areas of intellectual property and litigation, has represented some of the world’s most innovative industry leaders dating back to Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell. The firm has 11 U.S. offices and a client roster that includes 3M, Bose and Velcro.
1000 Maine Avenue is the District’s first waterfront, Class A trophy office building with traditional and loft-like spaces. The property, which is being developed to LEED Gold Core and Shell standards, will be a 250,000 sq. ft. freestanding building featuring bay windows, 10-foot ceilings, a dramatic three-story lobby atrium, a 3,500 sq. ft. fitness center overlooking the water and a stunning rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Washington, D.C. skyline.

The Wharf, a $2 billion, mixed-use development that is set to open in October 2017, is the most anticipated addition to the Washington, D.C. office market. Owned by Wharf 1 Office REIT Leaseholder LLC, the complex will house a multitude of residences, retail stores, hotels, dining and entertainment options, including Blue Bottle Coffee and Shake Shack. With access to Arena Stage, Nationals Park and the future D.C. United soccer stadium, Southwest Waterfront will become a destination to work, live and play year-round.
