CBRE announced it will bring its highly successful Workplace360 initiative to Memphis with the opening of a new, state-of-the-art, 10,824-sq.-ft. office at Triad Centre III, the newest of the three-building office complex along the Poplar Corridor, at 6070 Poplar Avenue. The firm will relocate approximately 48 employees from 2620 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in August 2018.
Workplace360 is CBRE’s leading-edge approach to workplace strategy designed to promote flexibility, mobility and productivity through technology-enabled, 100 percent-free address and paperless offices. The company’s new office will accommodate up to 70 employees in a more efficient design than its current 20,000-sq.-ft. office.
“Since moving into our existing space 10 years ago, advances in technology have resulted in a different, more mobile way of working. Our new office will feature amenities that enable employees to truly embrace technology and collaborate more effectively. It will also demonstrate a new way of working to our clients and the Memphis business community,” said Frank Quinn, managing director of CBRE’s Memphis business.
Based in part on research that shows that employees spend 50 percent of their time working with others, CBRE’s Workplace360 initiative provides a flexible way of working and a system of places, technologies and behaviors that allow for choice based on an employee’s changing needs throughout the day. Free-address with no assigned workstations, Workplace360 offices feature a variety of work settings – a balance of both collaborative and private spaces – from which employees can self-select depending on the project at hand.
Memphis will join approximately 60 other CBRE offices worldwide in transitioning to Workplace360.
CBRE will leverage its Workplace and Project Management teams to implement Workplace360 from initiation through move-in. Lee Dixon, project manager, will serve as project lead. CBRE assembled a steering committee of 12 employees from different departments to identify what aspects were most important in the new space. CBRE’s Kevin Adams represented the firm in the lease transaction.
“From productivity and wellness, to engagement and recruitment, the workplace directly contributes to business results. Better business performance begins with better workplace performance, and at CBRE, we practice what we preach,” said Cicily Scharlach, program manager for CBRE’s Workplace360 initiative. “We will engage employees by forming committees focused on delivering an environment that supports the way they work in terms of flexibility and mobility, and the experience they want to have when they come to the office every day.”
