CBRE Group, Inc. Strengthens Retail Services Offering in Columbus and Cincinnati by Adding Melissa Ruther, Mary Bresnahan

Ms. Ruther, Ms. Bresnahan join CBRE as vice presidents

Columbus, OH, August 3, 2016 – CBRE Group, Inc. today announced that Melissa Ruther and Mary Bresnahan, two retail real estate veterans well established in the Midwest, have joined CBRE’s retail services team in Cincinnati and Columbus, respectively, as vice presidents. 

Ms. Ruther, who joins CBRE from JLL, brings more than 15 years of experience and specializes in leasing and tenant representation. She has extensive regional market knowledge and has developed strong relationships with retailers, developers and the brokerage community. She is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and will be based out of CBRE’s Cincinnati office.

Ms. Bresnahan, who also joins CBRE from JLL, brings more than 16 years of experience in the retail brokerage industry with expertise in leasing, development, strategic consulting and tenant representation. She has deep experience representing owners, serving a number of long-term clients on large-format and mall leasing. Mary is also a member of ICSC and will enjoy a homecoming with her return to CBRE’s Columbus office, where she worked from 2007 to 2014.

While at JLL, both Ms. Ruther and Ms. Bresnahan were recognized among the top retail professionals nationally in 2015. 

“The addition of Mary and Melissa to our team will undoubtedly enhance CBRE’s retail service offerings in the Ohio market,” said Michael Copella, managing director for CBRE’s Columbus office. “Their experience and significant existing relationships will benefit our clients immensely.”

The arrival of Ms. Ruther and Ms. Bresnahan underscores CBRE’s ongoing drive to enhance its retail presence in the Midwest, which included its acquisition last November of Indianapolis-based Sitehawk Retail Real Estate.
