Orlando, FL – February 25, 2014 – A survey of CBRE employees at its downtown Orlando office finds that having an open-plan, free-address environment highly enhances worker satisfaction and engagement.
The employees were surveyed six months after moving into a “Workplace360” office, an open-plan, free-address environment that offers enhanced flexibility, mobility, technology, wellness and increased collaboration opportunities to reflect how employees increasingly work today. More than 80 percent of these employees are satisfied or extremely satisfied with their new office work environment.
“This new innovative workplace strategy ensures that our employees are happier and more productive at work, have flexibility and choice in how they work, and enjoy a healthier workplace environment,” said Bill Moss, CBRE Orlando Senior Managing Director. “The results of the post-occupancy survey clearly suggest that the benefits of our workplace approach – increased efficiency and productivity at lower costs – also allow CBRE to provide our clients with the highest level of service.”
Among the survey’s most revealing results are:
97 percent of employees feel they have access to spaces for spontaneous face to face conversations, and 89 percent felt they have ample spaces for privacy when needed
87 percent feel that their work environment reflects their impression of the CBRE brand and promotes a positive image of the company
84 percent said that Workplace360 has enabled them to work from anywhere, anytime
89 percent say they are able to easily access their digitized files off-site or from handheld devices such as a tablet or smartphone
84 percent agreed that clients are interested in our new way of working
The downtown Orlando location was one of the first CBRE offices in the U.S. to transition to Workplace360, a free-address new way of working where no one has assigned seats, all files are digitized, paper waste is greatly reduced and employees are supported by enhanced technology that promotes mobility, flexibility and choice based on their changing needs and preferences throughout the day. The space also places a high importance on employee health and wellness; with features that include extensive natural light, filtered air and water, consistent with the SunTrust Center’s LEED-Silver certification, and ergonomic furniture.
