Purchased by Chicago-based Golub Co. in 2014 and rebranded Oak Brook 22, the property has received significant improvements and amenity additions, making it one of the top Class A properties in the bustling Oak Brook office sector. Improvements at the facility include: a redesigned lobby and lounge area, a new fitness center, state-of-the-art conference facility and major exterior and interior upgrades.
Since taking the assignment, the CBRE team has completed 22 lease renewals and 12 new leases at the facility. The building now sits 95 percent leased.
“This property has become one of the premier buildings in not just Oak Brook, but the entire suburbs of Chicago,” said CBRE’s Elwood. “It’s a great example of how a developer can take the location strengths of a market like Oak Brook and then develop a product that can be used for recruitment and retention. We are very excited about how this asset has performed.”
Command Alkon is a global supplier of industry-specific hardware and software systems for construction materials producers. The firm will be relocating to Oak Brook 22 from two separate suburban Chicago locations.
