Founded in 1971, Thorntons has called Louisville home for more than 45 years. Having outgrown its current facility, Thorntons decided to remain in Louisville constructing its headquarters in the city’s rapidly growing East End. Located off Old Henry Road, Thorntons will occupy the facility under a long-term net lease structure.
“When a company that has called Kentucky home for more than 40 years decides to remain here for a major expansion, it shows that we have established a successful partnership,” said Steve Beshear, Former Governor of Kentucky. “We look forward to continued work with this rapidly growing Kentucky company.”
Consistent with the company’s dedication to the community and its involvement in many philanthropic activities, the new facility will accommodate the company’s current and future expansion.
“Even though the assignment included a compressed time frame and aspirational price goals, the leadership of Andy Sandquist and the efforts of his entire team facilitated in executing this deal seamlessly,” said Joe Reed, director of real estate at Thorntons. “Thanks to Andy, the transaction’s financial terms exceeded our expectations.”
Thorntons is scheduled occupy the new space in April of 2017.
