New location to showcase the firm’s leading-edge workplace strategy initiative, “Workplace360”
Columbus, Ohio – October 15, 2015– CBRE Group Inc. today announced plans to relocate its Columbus office to 200 Civic Center Drive. The commercial real estate services firm, currently located at 280 N. High Street, signed a 10 -year lease to occupy 18,811 square feet, including the 14th floor (the top) and space on the 13th floor of the Class-A office building, owned by CC13, LLC.
The new space will be designed as one of CBRE’s Workplace360 offices, the company’s leading-edge workplace strategy initiative designed to support the way employees work today, and in the future, through enhanced flexibility, mobility, technology and productivity. Additionally, with studies showing a growing importance placed on health and wellness in the workplace, the unique space offers two open air balconies overlooking the city and German Village for employees to enjoy mid-day fresh air and sunlight to help increase productivity.
Based in part on research that shows that employees spend 50 percent of their time working with others, CBRE’s Workplace360 initiative provides a flexible way of working and a system of places, technologies and behaviors that allow for choice based on an employee’s changing needs throughout the day. A free-address and paperless environment with no assigned workstations, Workplace360 offices feature a variety of work settings – a balance of both collaborative and private spaces – from which employees can self-select depending on the project at hand. Enhanced technology that supports this mobile way of working is a core element of every Workplace360 office.
“CBRE is committed to redefining and leading emerging workplace strategies by enhancing internal collaboration and gaining firsthand perspective that allows us to provide better insights to our clients,” said Michael Copella, CBRE Managing Director for the Columbus office. “In addition, we are excited to enhance our presence in the downtown market and demonstrate our commitment to the continued urbanization of Columbus’s core.”
CBRE’s dedicated Workplace Strategy team is leading the implementation of the new space, along with a team that includes designer Gensler Architects and CBRE’s in-house Project Management team, which is overseeing the construction process. The office is expected to be complete in April 2016.
200 Civic Center Drive is a 239,532 square foot, 14-story building located in the heart of the New River South District, nestled between new parks and residential projects, it overlooks both the Columbus Business District and the Scioto River. The building was previously home to Columbia Gas and is currently going through extensive exterior and interior renovations.Amenities include an attached five-level parking garage with 484 spaces, an auditorium, fitness center, on site security and is within walking distance to the several amenities including restaurants, hotels and various services.
