Command and Signal
Contact our veteran ambassadors for questions and to connect with branch-specific experts.
“We have so many ex-military people working with us, especially in the engineering field, that pretty much any time I didn’t understand something, I was able to find someone like myself to help translate. You always feel comfortable asking questions and finding someone to speak the language you’re used to who can help translate that into the corporate world.”
“CBRE puts great value on the military candidates, so there were a number of people that allowed me to call them up and would always be there to talk to and guide me. You don’t have to figure things out on your own which is key since the transition is huge from the military to corporate lifestyle in terms of demands and expectations. We’re always going to support our own and I have always felt free to call others and ask for help.”
“I work on an account with many military veterans and I love that. I like not being the lone veteran and here I never am. It’s a shared experience and we’re all different ages, backgrounds, and services, but it’s an experience that unless you’ve done it you don’t have that experience and CBRE seems to recognize and appreciate that.”
“When I was still in Florida for my time in the reserve, my supervisors bent over backwards to afford me the opportunity to go down there. They have always been super supportive in that respect. When I went away to do my annual training, again, they understood it was important and continued to provide me with endless support, just as they always have.”
“More than just the vocational training that you get, there are a lot of facets that the military background adds to what we do as a company and really makes it possible for a military person to be successful. Once you’re here, CBRE Military connects you to other people who have been in service and allows you to share and claim the benefits of others who have been down the same roads as you. This helps form a tight-knit community amongst the employees who served in the military and further ensures success.”
Career Fairs and Events
CBRE participates in a number of job fairs that are designated for current and former members of the US Armed Forces and National Reserves. We have attended job fairs sponsored by for-profit and non-profit organizations such as the Hiring Our Heroes, Red, White and You and the Recruit Military career fairs in locations throughout the U.S. We have also traveled to various military installations to attend onsite career fairs at locations such as Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas and Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia. We have extended our efforts beyond career fairs by connecting with the Transition Assistance Program offices on a number of military installations to partner on efforts to assist members of the military with job placement following the completion of their service.
