Mark S. Karlan has 24 years of experience in the commercial real estate investment business. Mr. Karlan joined CBRE Global Investors in February 2006 as an Executive Managing Director and is a member of the firm’s global Executive Committee. He is President of the Strategic Partners Asia value added investment fund series and leads the fund’s dedicated investment team with offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore.
Previously, Mr. Karlan was the President, CEO, founder and a member of the board of directors of Imperial Credit Commercial Mortgage Investment Corp., a publicly traded REIT that invested in both commercial real estate and commercial property loans. He has acquired more than 100 commercial properties with a gross asset value exceeding $8 billion on behalf of institutional and other investors.
Mr. Karlan earned MBA, Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Harvard University with honors, received a John Harvard Scholarship for academic achievement of the highest distinction and was a winner of the Williston contract negotiation competition.
