As Chief Financial Officer for both CBRE|Martin and CBRE|Grand Rapids, William Griffiths works in partnership with company leadership to ensure adherence to organizational performance standards and serves as a member of the executive leadership team, participating in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution.
As head of the accounting department, Bill manages all aspects of corporate accounting both CBRE|Martin and CBRE|Grand Rapids. He oversees a staff of four and works closely with each department leader ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting, as well as overseeing the preparation and delivery of monthly and annual financial statements to each valued client. Bill’s commitment to servicing client needs means making the delivery of financial information efficient, and he played an instrumental role in the company’s recent conversion to a user-friendly, web-based accounting system.
In addition, Bill serves as the single point of contact for State of Michigan, insurance, and any other compliance audits. This includes current construction management, including but not limited to, lien waivers, AIA document review and compliance with loan covenants.
Bill’s long tenure with the company began as Controller for CBRE|Martin and Martin Property Development, overseeing construction cost accounting, waiver compliance, payroll, and all asset services accounting functions. He held that position for seven years until in 2008 he was promoted to Director of Finance and Accounting, supervising all corporate accounting for both the Mid and West Michigan alliliate offices of CBRE.
