Steve’s entire professional career has been dedicated to the commercial real estate industry. Prior to joining CBRE in 2014 as Executive Vice President of Retail, Steve served as President and Partner of Metro Commercial Real Estate, and before that, he was chief Operating Officer of Michael Salove Company (now MSC Retail). He has orchestrated the expansion of significant retailers at various times including: Gap, Inc. (and all of its brands), Kohls, Marshalls/TJ Maxx, Crate & Barrel, Citibank, and Hollywood Video. His leasing activities have focused on high-street and premium properties including Suburban Square on Philadelphia’s Main Line, one of the first shopping centers in America. Other Agency clients have included Forest City, Kimco, and Brandywine Realty Trust.
In Center City Philadelphia, he has negotiated leases involving Intermix, Athleta, Allen Edmonds, Camper, Cheesecake Factory, Gap, Banana Republic, Verizon, Jack Wills, True Religion Jeans, Cosi, Max Brenner, CVS, and Walgreen’s. He brokered two of the largest shopping center sales in recent years, the sale of Riverview Plaza & Columbus Crossing for $75 million, and the sale of Quartermaster Plaza for $91 million, both purchased by Cedar Shopping Centers.
Steve is a past PA/NJ/DE chair for The International Council of Shopping Centers. He has served as an expert contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Good Day Philadelphia, and as a guest lecturer at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and George Washington University, his alma mater.
