Steven Bavaro is a Senior Project Manager in CBRE’s Northeast region, working out of 1133 Avenue of Americas on the Bank of America account. Currently, Mr. Bavaro manages the Bank’s New York Metro Plan Consolidation, which consists of the renovation and restack of the Bank’s properties in Midtown and Downtown, and incorporates a significant MEP component involving condenser water riser modifications, CRAC replacements, UPS power distribution and technology riser modifications. In addition, Mr. Bavaro oversees planning and programming, which includes lines of business interaction, design, construction, FF&E and associate moves. During lease negotiations, he managed tactical support as it related to TIA, landlord work and infrastructure requirements. The 600,000-square-foot project has a budget of approximately $100 million.
Mr. Bavaro has been directly involved in the successful completion of several projects for Bank of America, including a $4 million roof replacement in Utica, a $3.7 million full-floor restack at the Bank of America Tower in Manhattan and a $1.7 million new office in Westchester, as well as a number of smaller scale tenant improvement projects.
His extensive background includes more than 20 years of project management and scheduling experience, and he brings a willing-to-please, client-focused approach to his work. A team player, Mr. Bavaro mentors newer associates on the Bank of America account, sharing his vast industry experience and deep knowledge of the Bank’s intricate process to enhance the services CBRE provides. In addition to his daily responsibilities, Mr. Bavaro has embraced a leadership role, directly managing two CBRE project managers.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Bavaro served as a project manager for the Goldman Sachs account at Jones Lang LaSalle, completing significant projects in Houston and the Princeton BCP. Before that, he served as Regional Services Manager for Haworth Architectural Interiors, managing a staff of 11 project managers, project coordinators and specifiers for floor-to-ceiling wall systems. Additionally, he spent six years in the Design & Construction Group at Cablevision Systems, completing projects including a 310,000-sq.-ft. interior gut/rebuild with chiller replacement and data center build-out with new generator, UPS and CRAC units. Mr. Bavaro’s other projects include the News 12 Studio renovation, a 50,000-sq.-ft. call center and various head end/data center projects.
