Shellie’s background is in accounting, and her skill for numbers is the perfect complement to her passion for problem solving. As a Fortune 500 company, CBRE produces a wealth of statistics that reveal a diverse set of comparisons, percentages and trends. Shellie’s role is to mine and analyze these dense reports, pulling the relevant facts and arranging them into a compelling narrative.
Even the most complex questions can be broken down into logical components, and that’s where Shellie comes in. When she is approached by a CBRE colleague looking to explain events or explore causes, Shellie pulls the right data and presents it in a clear, compelling way.
Every new project is an experiment, a complex puzzle that requires creativity and innovation to find the solution. Shellie thrives on the challenges of her job, and she is known for her ability to organize data in a meaningful way. She creates dashboards and databases that enable her colleagues to access her conclusions and communicate them with others.
Prior to becoming a Business Analytics Manager at CBRE, Shellie worked in finance for two years. She supported CBRE’s Global Shared Services group in the areas of financial reporting and budgeting. She also worked with the Asset Services group in providing US and global trend reports and dashboards, special projects and ad hoc reporting. She worked with internal and external resources in the automation of the first set of dashboards and trend reports in the OBIEE system. In addition, Shellie served as a controller in the Asset Services Client Accounting Services group for five years.
