Professional Experience

Mr. Sims joined CBRE/New England in 2005 and possesses over 18 years of diversified experience in asset and property management, leasing, sales and construction. Mr. Sims works directly with CBRE/NE clients in developing and implementing strategic operating plans for their properties. He serves as the primary client contact and is responsible for selecting, training and supervising the activities of all property staff. Mr. Sims is currently the Portfolio Manager for over five million square feet of commercial office space and is responsible for the CBRE Sensible Sustainability Program in New England.

Prior to joining CBRE/NE, Mr. Sims was a property manager for Gerald Hines Interests for eight years where he managed several Class A commercial, retail and office buildings, ranging from 670,000 square feet to 1.2 million square feet. Prior to Hines Interests, Sims served as property manager for Spaulding & Slye Colliers where he managed the daily operations of a 1.4 million square foot high-rise office tower in Boston's central business district. Sims successful industry experience is evidenced by numerous awards and achievements to-date, including BOMA Executive of the Year Award, BOMA Property Manager of the Year (High Rise) Award, City of Cambridge Go Green Award for exceptional energy efficiency and recycling, EPA Energy Star Award, Massachusetts WasteCap Award, and BOMA Building of the Year Awards (over 500,000 SF) for Boston and Mid-Atlantic Regions.

Shay Sims will be the single source of direction for all team members and a means by which all short and long-term goals for the property are viewed by the client's perspective. The Account Manager provides the following value added service to ownership:

  • Primary contact with client
  • Select and manage project team members
  • Provide consistency in reporting and accounting procedures
  • Support client management strategies, policies and procedures
  • Create efficiencies, limit risk and maintain quality
  • Encourage the property management and leasing staff to be proactive
  • Ensure the resources are employed properly
