Scott H. Gamber is a Vice Chairman in CBRE’s Midtown Manhattan office, a consistent CBRE Colbert Coldwell Award winner, and an Executive Committee Member of CBRE’s Law Firm Practice Group.  Mr. Gamber has been the senior broker for some of the Tri-State’s largest and most complex transactions during his commercial real estate career, and is often involved in the negotiation and structuring of a variety of transactions for his long-term clients on a regional, national and global basis.  Mr. Gamber’s investment banking background provides him with the financial acumen to develop and implement strategic real estate plans for large space users so they are able to proactively manage their occupancy portfolios.  His ability to combine a thorough knowledge of lease provisions, coupled with strong negotiating skills, has helped Mr. Gamber to successfully accomplish the myriad goals of his financial services and law firm clients.

A major portion of Mr. Gamber’s focus is on long-term client relationships, where he is able to more fully understand the goals and objectives of the client, and is better positioned to serve the client on a proactive basis.  Mr. Gamber currently represents Latham & Watkins LLP around the world as their exclusive appointed Global Real Estate Broker and has represented Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. within the U.S. and Europe.  He also assists both clients with overseeing their occupancy portfolios as an integral member of each firm’s internal real estate committee.  As part of his work for the two firms, he has personally successfully completed transactions in Paris, Chicago, Brussels, Los Angeles, San Diego, London, Dubai, Menlo Park (CA), Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Milan, Frankfurt, Moscow, Madrid, Tokyo, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Newark, Orange County (CA), Philadelphia, Munich, Manchester (UK), Dublin, Doha, Dallas, New York, Reston (VA), Boston, San Francisco, Shanghai, Silicon Valley, Tokyo, Jersey City (NJ), Century City (CA), and Washington, D.C.

During the past few years, Mr. Gamber represented Latham & Watkins LLP in their leases for Chicago (135,000 rsf), London (140,000 rsf), Hamburg (61,000 rsf), Manchester (12,000 rsf), and Century City (36,000 rsf).  He also represented Yelp, Inc. in San Francisco and Phoenix, and most recently in New York (150,000 rsf) and Hamburg (15,000 rsf).

Mr. Gamber’s largest assignment was to represent GE Corporation in a 1,400,000 rsf lease of office space in midtown Manhattan to NBC/Universal, and then two years later he advised GE in the ultimate sale of the same space to Comcast.  Mr. Gamber previously represented Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in their lease in downtown Manhattan (430,000 rsf) and in Jersey City, NJ (115,000 rsf), and Latham & Watkins in their lease at 885 Third Avenue (420,000 rsf).  He also represented Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in both their 700,000 rsf lease at 4 Times Square and their 200,000 rsf lease at 1460 Broadway; and Duracell, Inc. in their development of a 360,000 rsf world Headquarters in Bethel, CT.

Previously, Mr. Gamber was an Executive Vice President (and Limited Partner) of LaSalle Partners (and then Jones Lang LaSalle), and co-head of its New York tenant representation group.  During his 9-year tenure with LaSalle, Mr. Gamber was consistently one of the company’s top performers, and a multiple winner of the coveted LaSalle Club award.

Before joining LaSalle, Mr. Gamber spent 11 years in the investment banking industry, first at Shearson Lehman Brothers and then at Bear Stearns, as a member of the corporate finance groups at both firms.
