He is responsible for all management aspects of the properties, including overseeing the day-to-day management teams, tenant relations, building improvements and leasing support.
Sander’s primary retail management experience is with regional shopping centers. From 2005 to 2010, Sander worked for Westfield Corporation. He started as General Manager of Westfield West Covina, a regional shopping mall with over 180 stores, as well as Westfield Eastland, a regional power center with over 60 retailers, including Target and Albertson’s. At Westfield West Covina, he was instrumental in the repositioning of that Center and adding Best Buy to replace Robinsons-May. He also managed the 30,000 sf expansion of Macy’s into the mall. Sander was subsequently assigned to manage Westfield Century City, the company’s flagship property in the United States, which includes a high-end shopping center with 135 stores and a 14-story Class-A high rise building. Both of these properties required a good balance of tenant relations and operational expertise.
