Robert “Bob” Dean joined CBRE in January, 2016 specializing in the execution of institutional multifamily property sales throughout the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area. Mr. Dean is an integral part of the underwriting, marketing and sales process for institutional multifamily properties and focuses on expanding CBRE’s platform in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Suburban Maryland. Mr. Dean partners with CBRE Debt & Structured Finance to provide additional resources for clients and potential investors in capitalizing transactions.
Mr. Dean joined the CBRE Washington DC Multifamily Investment Properties Team, after nearly 20 years at GE Capital Real Estate where he held numerous leadership positions. He served as Managing Director of Joint Venture Investments and was responsible for leading dispositions, managing relationships with key partners and executing debt refinancing and modifications. Between 2011 and 2015, he led $10 billion of dispositions. Mr. Dean also held positions in Risk Management and Acquisitions. Prior to GE Capital Real Estate, he was a Senior Consultant with Arthur Andersen where he provided strategic consulting to real estate owners and institutional investors, drafted consulting reports, prepared investment memorandum, created financial models, and conducted real estate market research.
Mr. Dean has completed transactions involving more than 195 communities with an aggregate value of over $10.9 billion since joining the Washington DC Investment Properties Team. Mr. Dean has been part of the largest CBRE Sales Transaction in the Washington region in 2016 and 2017.
Mr. Dean graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD with a Bachelor of Science in both Finance and Economics. Mr. Dean is a member of the university’s School of Business Board of Visitors and the Blessed Sacrament School Board.
