Professional Experience

In October 2018, CBRE launched Hana, new flexible space offering designed to meet the needs of enterprise and high growth occupiers. Operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of CBRE, Hana’s core offering is a plug-and-play flexible office solution that features team suites (Hana Team), meeting and project rooms (Hana Meet) and traditional co-working (Hana Share).

As Chief Operating Officer of Hana, Robert has overall responsibility for global operations of all Hana locations, including build efforts, personnel management and hospitality service.

Cartwright has 20 years’ experience at Starwood Hotels & Resorts where he gained experience both managing assets and multi-unit operations under the St. Regis, W, Westin and Sheraton brands. He also held executive roles within operations and development. His deep hospitality experience also includes leadership positions at Morgans Hotel Group and Marriott International.

During his tenure at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, his responsibilities included General Manager, Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, a 1,052 room urban-resort and conference center that generated over $100mm in annual sales; Regional Master Black Belt, Southern California, overseeing Six Sigma and the operations of a portfolio of 22 hotels from Las Vegas to San Diego; Resort Manager, St. Regis Monarch Beach, California's only five-star, five-diamond luxury resort; and Senior Director, Rooms Operations for the North America Division, where he served as the discipline leader for over 250 hotels and assisted in the opening of more than 20 new build hotels and resorts.

Cartwright also previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations for WeWork in addition to a variety of hospitality and experience leadership positions at the company.

Robert holds a degree in Economics, International Business from the State University of New York at Oneonta, as well as a Distinguished Leader certificate in Organizational Leadership from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and a certificate in Real Estate, Development and Hotel Management from Cornell University.
