Nick Cox brings three decades of experience in facility
operations and management to his role as Director of Engineering for static
facilities on the CBRE Bank of America account.
Mr. Cox started his career as an apprentice electrician
working for several small electrical contractors in Delaware and Pennsylvania.
He joined the DuPont Company in 1983 as a project electrician, and worked his
way up to Project Manager, overseeing the construction of a 1 million-sq.-ft.
suburban office campus.
In 1994, as DuPont was downsizing, Mr. Cox was offered an
opportunity with MBNA. There he managed the operation and maintenance of the
Delaware headquarters region, which consisted of 5 million sq. ft. of Class-AA
office space, data center space, production, print operations and call centers.
In 2006, Bank of America purchased MBNA, and the facility
management and operations responsibilities were outsourced to Trammell Crow
Company, which was later acquired by CBRE. Mr. Cox transitioned to the
outsourced model, and proceeded to hold several local and regional management
positions on the account.
In 2014, Mr. Cox was promoted to Director of Engineering. He
manages the operation and maintenance team, which consists of 137 professionals
who cover 15 million sq. ft. in 84 facilities across nine states. He is highly
regarded for an approachable management style, strong communication skills,
deep technical knowledge and experience.
