Markus is a Director of Project Management for CBRE in the Seattle, Washington office. With over 20 years in construction management services and commercial real estate development, Markus’ experience includes leadership roles directing a variety of project assignments and advising clients on their capital projects and build programs. Markus currently directs the site Special-Projects programs and Transition & Turnover for the Amazon account.
Previously, Markus managed the Redmond area Work Place Advantage (WPA) build-out program of open-work space renovations for Microsoft, and worked on early design/development efforts for the $400M 515,000 sq. ft. Red West Phase 2 Campus development.
Serving MultiCare Health System, Markus oversaw new construction of Good Samaritan Hospital’s Dally Tower project in Puyallup, Washington. He successfully delivered a $400M 350,000 sq. ft. hospital facility with 380-car garage & Central Utility Plant on time and under budget.
Markus’ responsibilities as project manager for a large Seattle-area general contractor, Lease Crutcher Lewis, included management of all owner expectations for project cost, quality and schedule aspects including invoicing, contract negotiations, project execution, change orders, change requests, budget management, cost projections, CPM schedule management, site policies and procedures, and utilization of a networked project management system encompassing all project communication, documentation and functions.
Prior to this, Markus worked as a manager at Ernst & Young in their Seattle office’s Real Estate Advisory Services group. His responsibilities included oversight for the Seattle region’s construction consulting practice providing advisory services for corporate clients undertaking major capital projects representing clients’ interests. Industry sectors include data centers, healthcare facilities, distribution centers, and high-tech manufacturing facilities. Client advisory services included Construction Cost Evaluations, Project Controls & Risk Assessments, Financial Modeling & Analysis, Claims & Litigation Assistance, Benchmarking Studies and Cost Segregation.
