Professional Experience

Mark Smith is a Senior Vice President with CBRE, Inc. specializing in tenant and landlord representation. He has focused exclusively on the northwest suburban market of Chicago since 1978, and has represented many of the area’s largest corporations as well as most notable office developments. This representation has also included the sale or purchase of numerous headquarters facilities, vacant land and investment sales.

Mark has been involved in sales and leases totaling more than 29,000,000 square feet and trained ten other office specialists in the Schaumburg office.

  • Mark is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks and involved in numerous charitable organizations including Maryville City of Youth, City of Hope and the Park Ridge Youth Campus

  • Mark has been the top producer in CBREs’ Schaumburg office, seven times and among the top five in the office since its opening in 1982. 
  • He has been a recipient of the Chairman’s Club Award, placing him among the top professionals nationally, and a recipient of the Superior Service Award based on top performance ratings by clients. 
  • He has also received the Robert S. Jackson Award which is presented by CBRE to an individual every two years who represents exceptional spirit, integrity and business ethics.
  • Mark was awarded the Broker of the Year award in 2004 and 2006, and nominated for the same award three previous times, by Crain’s and the Chicago Sun-Times, given annually at the Chicago Real Estate Awards Dinner benefiting the Greater Food Depository. 
  • He also was awarded the Suburban Office Investment Transaction of the Year award by NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Parks) in 2005.
