Marcia Murakami is a Real Estate Manager for CBRE’s Asset Services management team based in Honolulu. Ms. Murakami currently manages an industrial portfolio of 1.6 million sq. ft. on Oahu, including the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Kakaako Makai properties. In this role, she oversees all aspects of management and operations for the properties, including the development of the business plans, all financial and accounting initiatives, resolving tenant issues, tenant improvements and capital projects, along with budgeting and operating expense reconciliations.
Prior to joining CBRE, Marcia spent more than 13 years as the Property Manager for the Kailua Town portfolio consisting mostly of retail space. The portfolio is comprised of approximately 150 tenants in 27 buildings totaling approximately 327,000 sq. ft. of commercial space on 42 acres of land in the heart of Kailua, Hawaii’s residential community.
Marcia’s experience with the Kailua Town retail portfolio involved a redevelopment of the area that essentially created a new ‘Town Center’ for Kailua including five new buildings being built along with a 320-stall parking garage. This redevelopment activity necessitated relocating existing tenants and coordinating the move-in of new tenants, creating and implementing an operation plan for the new parking structure and revising site procedures to accommodate the new structures. Additionally, Ms. Murakami created and implemented a marketing and advertising campaign that included co-op advertising, managing tenant relations, communications and retention, and representing ownership in creating and coordinating five to six community-wide special events each year.
Ms. Murakami began her real estate career in 1980 and has worked with well-known companies in the industry such as DGM Group, Monroe and Friedlander, Colliers International, and Kaneohe Ranch Management.
