Professional Experience

Lewis Miller is a Vice Chairman of CBRE and has been with the company for 25 years. As a member of the firm’s Strategic Planning Group and the Consulting Group's Operating Committee, Lewis dedicates significant time and resources to shaping the company's long-term strategic direction.

With a strong financial background that encompasses investment banking and accounting expertise, and a deep understanding of the economic and financial statement implications of complex real estate transactions, Mr. Miller has creatively structured numerous transactions to accomplish a variety of goals on behalf of his clients. His ability to understand the implications of a transaction for all parties enables him to develop effective negotiating strategies on behalf of his clients.

Over the past ten years, Mr. Miller has been responsible for arranging leasing transactions totaling in excess of 20 million sq. ft., with his primary focus on financial services firms and law firms.

Over the past 30 months, Lewis’ transactional work has included representing Credit Suisse in its 1.1 million-sq.-ft. transaction at Eleven Madison Avenue, Davis Polk in its 650,000-sq.-ft. renewal at 450 Lexington Avenue, Simpson Thacher in its 600,000-sq.-ft. transaction at 425 Lexington Avenue, Weil Gotshal in its 400,000-sq.-ft. transaction at 767 Fifth Avenue, Schulte Roth & Zabel in its 280,000-sq.-ft. renewal at 919 Third Avenue, Paul Hastings in its 180,000-sq.-ft. relocation to 200 Park Avenue, Troutman Sanders in its 90,000-sq.-ft. relocation to 875 Third Avenue and SNR Denton in its 125,000-sq.-ft. transaction in Chicago. Lewis’ ongoing work on behalf of Credit Suisse included completing additional transactions in Chicago (100,000 sq. ft.), London (sale and leaseback), Salt Lake City (sale and leaseback), One Madison Avenue (disposition) and numerous other transactions across the Americas. In addition, Lewis continued his national representation of Goldman Sachs, completing five transactions on their behalf.

In 2011 and 2010, Lewis’ transactional work included completing transactions on behalf of Seward & Kissel in its 150,000-sq.-ft. renewal and expansion, Loeb & Loeb in its 150,000-sq.-ft. transaction in Los Angeles, Mendes and Mount in its 130,000-sq.-ft. renewal at 750 Seventh Avenue, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs in their leasing of 100,000 sq. ft. and 80,000 sq. ft., respectively in a new development in Sao Paulo, Vinson & Elkins in their 72,000-sq.-ft. transaction at 666 Fifth Avenue and Anderson Kill in its 50,000-sq.ft. extension and rent arbitration. In addition, during this time period Lewis completed transactions on behalf of Otterbourg, Steindler, Houston & Rosen; Roberts & Holland, Jacob Medinger and Mishcon de Reya.

In 2009, Lewis represented Gibson Dunn & Crutcher in their 260,000-sq.-ft. renewal and expansion, Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in their 200,000-sq.ft. renewal as well as Loeb & Loeb in their 150,000-sq.-ft. transaction at 345 Park Avenue. In addition, Lewis represented Credit Suisse in structuring a build-to-suit net lease of a 300,000-sq.-ft. data center in New Jersey. Lewis also represented Jenner & Block and Sidley Austin in its 65,000-sq.ft. and 85,000-sq.-ft. transactions, respectively. In 2008, Lewis represented AIG in the leasing of 800,000 sq. ft. from Goldman Sachs at 180 Maiden Lane. Lewis represented Dickstein Shapiro in their 100,000-sq.-ft. relocation to 1633 Broadway and Schulte Roth in their 90,000-sq.-ft. expansion at 919 Third Avenue. In 2006, Lewis represented Sidley Austin in their 85,000-sq.-ft. expansion into 1251 Avenue of the Americas and Seyfarth Shaw in their 100,000-sq.-ft. relocation to 620 Eighth Avenue (the New York Times building).

Prior to joining CBRE, Lewis was a vice president at Lehman Brothers in the firm's real estate investment banking group. Before joining Lehman Brothers, he worked at Ernst & Young as a Certified Public Accountant.
