Karin Carter has more than twenty years of experience in the real estate industry. She is currently serving as the Property Management Regional Director of Operations for the Southeast Region. In this role she is responsible for the oversight of property transitions, managing new business, administering the Environments for Excellence program, implementing Global Standards and supporting new technology. Additionally, Karin assists with operational training by teaching OpX Theory, Global Standards, Lease Interpretation, and Financial Mastery courses to Property Management employees in various markets.
Previously, Karin was an Associate Director of Property Management in Atlanta. Her portfolio consisted of 1 million square feet of office with senior oversight responsibilities for 9 million square feet of office, industrial, data center, and retail. Ms. Carter’s oversight of properties included financial management, tenant relations, property value enhancement and supervision of teams.
While working for CBRE, Ms. Carter has managed buildings that earned both LEED and Energy Star certifications. She also managed buildings that were successfully repositioned in the market due to rebranding, significant capital renovations, and the introduction of new platforms.
Ms. Carter joined CBRE in 2003 when Carr America sold their Atlanta portfolio. During her tenure with Carr America, Ms. Carter served as a Real Estate Manager with oversight of office, industrial and campus properties. She spent the first ten years of her career working for John Portman at Peachtree Center, a mixed office complex located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Peachtree Center covers multiple city blocks and is comprised of six office towers with a shared retail mall.
CBRE recognized Ms. Carter as the Real Estate Manager of the Year in 2009 and Team Leader of the Year in 2012.
