John Spratley has acquired more than 20 years of experience
in commercial real estate and banking. Since joining CBRE in 2006, Mr. Spratley
has served in leadership capacities for several banking clients.
Mr. Spratley’s current assignment is as Transactions &
Investments Platform Leader for the Bank of America account. He manages a team
of 19 brokerage professionals who have responsibility for retail and office
transactions across 40 states. The coverage area spans 30 million sq. ft. of
office space, and includes more than 3,000 branches.
In other assignments, Mr. Spratley conducted a review of
RBC’s Canadian and U.S. real estate portfolio, making recommendations to
improve brokerage practices tied to their retail and office portfolios. He also
has served as the Alliance Director for the BB&T account, with oversight
for the brokerage and project management activities associated with the
client’s de novo branch expansion in the Southeastern U.S.
Prior to CBRE, Mr. Sprately worked in mixed-use development
for The Mills Corporation, which is now part of Simon Property Group. As a
Development Director, he managed the pre-development activities for a $250
million-mixed-use development in downtown San Francisco, and a similarly sized
development in Midtown Atlanta.
While at Mills, Mr. Sprately also worked with professional
sports franchises to propose and plan retail and entertainment based
developments adjacent to stadiums, ballparks and arenas. He started his career
as a management associate for NCNB, which is now part of Bank of America.
