As a Senior Managing Director of CBRE’s Strategic Accounts Group, Joe Markling is part of a team of professionals that serve CBRE's institutional and investor clients as single points of contact. These specialists navigate and leverage CBRE’s resources expertly on behalf of clients with a focus on operational excellence and execution. They partner with clients to meet their immediate and long-term goals while fostering mutual growth opportunities.
Mr. Markling facilitates and coordinates the integrated and comprehensive performance on assignments undertaken for some of CBRE’s largest institutional clients, including RREEF / Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, USAA, LBA Realty, and Heitman. He oversees the national delivery of services, including strategy formations, property transitions, team performance, operations, leasing and financial reporting, on nearly 100 MSF of real estate assets in the United States and Canada.
Prior to rejoining CBRE and the Strategic Accounts Group in 2010, Mr. Markling was a Senior Vice President at Lowe Enterprises Investors serving as the National Director of Asset Management and Property Operations. He began his career with CBRE in 1980 as a Real Estate Manager overseeing a portfolio of institutional assets in Southern California, before joining CBRE Global Investors in 1984 as an Asset Manager and eventually becoming National Director of Asset Management. In addition, Mr. Markling is an Officer and Board Member of the California Business Properties Association (CBPA) and is the Past Chair and CEO of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International.
