Jim Solomon is a Regional Director in CBRE Chicago’s Global Corporate Services group. Jim leads the facility management team responsible for CBRE’s client, Capital One, in the Midwest, West and Southern regions. He has extensive knowledge in facility operations, planning, design and project management. He is passionate about workplace strategy implementation in support of a client’s brand and culture. Jim has in-depth experience with corporate headquarters, call centers, data centers, R&D and training facilities, ergonomic health and safety programs, as well as business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Jim began his career in CBRE’s Global Corporate Services group in 1995 as a Facilities Manager on the Baxter Healthcare account. Jim has managed a full range of facilities from small privately held firms to large corporate campuses. His experience also spans a variety of projects including build-to-suit, division relocation, renovation of occupied facilities and initiating newly acquired sites. Given his extensive experience working on various CBRE accounts under the Global Corporate Services umbrella, Jim has mastered reaching and exceeding key performance indicators on behalf of the clients he has served. His experience is especially unique because he has served as a client, an in-house service provider, an out-sourced service provider, and as tenant and owner representation on behalf of CBRE clients.
Jim came to CBRE after 12-years of facility management, project management and facility planning for Baxter Healthcare and Searle. His responsibilities included space planning and design, move/add/change coordination, AutoCAD, document and asset management, long range planning, lease administration, ACM abatement and office services management.
