Jacqueline Smith is the alliance director for CBRE’s Bank of New York Mellon account. She oversees all aspects of the account—financial, operational and qualitative—and holds final responsibility for its success. With her team of 200, she leads and directs specialists in Facilities, Project and Transaction Management, HR, Accounting & Finance, IT/Systems, Strategy and Lease Administration, managing more than 850 million sq. ft. of complex global corporate real estate transitions, transformations and consulting projects. Promoting and fostering the BNY Mellon relationship, she serves as main account liaison and is a key participant in expanding and managing the growth of the engagement.
An accomplished professional with more than 25 years of experience in corporate and investment real estate management services, Ms. Smith rejoined CBRE in 2014 after holding various positions at the firm from 2002–2012. Most recently, as senior managing director, she oversaw the firm’s Global Transition and Transformation for new and existing accounts.
Additionally, Ms. Smith was formerly senior vice president in CBRE’s National Asset Services Account group. She coordinated project leasing, property management, investment sales, development and construction management for ING Clarion Real Estate, RREEF, AEW Investment Management, GE Asset Management and UBS, comprising more than 65 million sq. ft. of office, industrial and retail properties. She was responsible for developing and executing business strategies to enhance asset value, and delivering seamless real estate services to her clients.
Prior to joining CBRE, Ms. Smith was director of asset management at GE Capital Investment Advisors. She oversaw several portfolios of equity and debt real estate investments owned on behalf of major U.S. pension funds, encompassing an asset value of $2 billion and encompassing 50 million square feet of Class A office, industrial and retail space throughout the U.S. She was a member of the executive committee that developed and implemented investment strategies and monitored investment results relative to specific client objectives.
Her earlier professional experience includes positions as director of property management with Hunneman Investment Management and vice president with Spaulding & Slye.
