Howard Kang is a Managing Director and Head of the Americas fund accounting & administration services for CBRE’s Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions group. Based out of Los Angeles, Howard manages fund administration operations, global risk and operational compliance for regional and global investment management clients in the Americas.
Howard joined CBRE more than 15 years ago in the Corporate Accounting group, where he managed the United States Corporate Accounting & Reporting team. He progressed through the company to begin working with fund accounting and reporting for CBRE Global Investors in 2010 and then to help launch the Global Investment Administration group in 2015.
Howard’s experience prior to CBRE includes managing portfolio accounting for CalPERS at CommonWealth Partners, overseeing property accounting operations at MGP (a listed REIT formerly known as Maguire Properties), and performing as an auditor in KPMG’s financial services practice, where he began his career. Howard has a wealth of industry experience in setting up fund accounting and reporting for clients with commingled funds (both closed-end and open-ended), separate accounts (both domestic and foreign capitals), as well as privately-held REITs.
