Griswold L. Ware is the Division General Counsel-East for CBRE, Inc. based in Chicago, Illinois. Gris joined CBRE in May 2006 as Senior Counsel.
Gris came to CBRE after more than 13 years in private practice with the commercial law firm of Vurdelja & Heaphy where he handled all types of commercial, employment and real estate matters. Throughout his career, Gris has counseled business clients in contract negotiations and in successful strategies to avoid litigation in all types of commercial matters. He has also represented clients through all phases of federal and state court litigation including claims for breach of contract, employment discrimination, fraud, business torts, corporate and partnership dissolution, creditor’s rights, and defamation and privacy.
Gris attended Denison University in Ohio where in 1986 he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and he attended The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois earning his Juris Doctor in 1992.
He has also been very active in The Cradle, an adoption and child welfare organization in Evanston, Illinois. Gris is a member of the Cradle Foundation Board of Directors, and is a current and founding member of the Cradle Associates advisory board where he served as Chairman for its first five years.
Gris and his family live in the Chicago suburbs.
