Diane Barela is a Senior Project Manager for CBRE’s Southern California Edison account within Global Workplace Solutions. Ms. Barela brings over 18 years of professional experience in Planning, Design and Construction Management to the CBRE team. Her proven leadership skills have led to the successful management of projects in the healthcare, commercial and residential industries. Crossing these markets offered a variety of essential insights into client policies, goals, and project needs. Capitalizing on experiences forged from previous multifunctional roles allows Ms. Barela to perform as an effective senior manager in numerous capacities. Ms. Barela’s “Project Life Cycle” experience proves to be invaluable when delivering the end product and turning the program vision into a reality. In her role as Senior Project Manager, Diane is responsible for the oversight and successful delivery of her team’s capital projects by providing leadership and guidance to help them achieve project goals.
Prior to joining CBRE, Ms. Barela was the Operations Manager for a General Contractor whose clients focused on acquiring distressed residential and commercial real estate throughout California. Ms. Barela led a team of 15 employees in servicing corporate investment accounts in the purchase, rehabilitation, resale, and property management of distressed properties.
Prior to that, Ms. Barela spent over 10 years in National Facilities Services with one of the largest healthcare provider networks in the nation, focusing on capital projects that serviced the greater healthcare market. Holding positions as a Project Manager and Financial Cost Analyst, Ms. Barela successfully managed and implemented the design and construction of capital maintenance and renovation projects throughout 38 facilities within the Inland Empire. This entailed a cumulative project budget in the area of $40 million annually. Facilities ranged from hospital, clinical, administrative, parking and support space including infrastructure maintenance, seismic, and lease space tenant improvements. With excellent business acumen, Ms. Barela led multi-disciplined and specialty teams in a collaborative effort with hospital leadership, physicians, and nursing staff.
