Darrell Frost is the Director of Operations and Engineering for the Microsoft account in Redmond, Washington since August 2014. He provides management oversight for all day to day operations, maintenance programs and engineering staff associated with the approximately 15 million sf of mixed-use office space. His strategic approach to the team’s delivery is integral in the success of this multi-layered team. Along with his strategic leadership, he uses KPIs to measure the success of the individual departments. These departments are predominantly direct employees that are responsible for the mechanical, controls, electrical, plumbing, fire, security, emergency systems and fit and finishes for all Microsoft buildings within the Puget Sound.
Darrell is leading his team through the implementation of new programs and initiatives such as, the Energy-Smart Buildings (ESB) and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) testing. His team is also developing best practices and technical training programs. These initiatives are unique to the industry and will be a huge savings win for Microsoft.
Prior to his current role, Darrell’s tenure with Microsoft since 1997 and more than 20 years’ experience saw him in a multitude of roles including Regional Facility Manger, Facility Manager, Facility Development Liaison and Contracts Manager. This direct-level experience has helped shape him into a leader that focuses on individual employee career development and team partnerships.
