Cindy O’Drobinak has more than 33 years of successful commercial office, facility, mixed-use and multi-family real estate management experience. In her current position as Senior Director of Asset Services, Cindy is responsible for a portfolio of properties containing more than seven million square feet of high-end retail, office space and specialized facilities. She works closely with property owners and on-site managers to achieve the physical and financial goals of each property. Some of her responsibilities include regular communication with ownership, site operation review for financial efficiencies and budget compliance, property positioning, property inspections, staff review and support, and the planning of capital and sustainable programs.
Since joining U.S. Equities Realty, now CBRE, in 1990, her asset management assignments have included the Boeing Building; multiple Michigan Avenue Class A retail and office properties, including 20 N. Michigan, a vintage 1882 LEED EB-O&M Platinum building; MetraMarket; seven Illinois Tollway Oases; Grand Plaza, a mixed-use property consisting of 110,000 square feet of retail space, 481 luxury residential units and a 1,000-space parking deck; along with the start-up of the LEED silver, Spertus Institute facility. Additionally, she provided three and a half years of receiver services for a 650,000 square foot mixed-use, waterfront property; served as director of suburban asset management where she oversaw more than 1.1 million square feet of office space, including MB Financial Bank headquarters and branch facilities; supervised five Class A office towers and one facility from development through staged occupancy; and successfully positioned a one-million square foot office building portfolio for sale on behalf of MONY Life Insurance Company. Further, her responsibilities included the oversight of Waste Management’s west suburban campus and Geneva facility during a sale process and consolidation of leased office space. She served as the general manager of 150 North Michigan Avenue, a 650,000 square foot office building; general manager of the Santa Fe Building, a 370,000 square foot historic property; and property manager for the transition of a 280,000 square foot data center, from development through staged occupancy.
Cindy has supervised numerous special projects at several Class A, vintage and retail assets in the Chicagoland area. She has been involved in a $2 million HVAC capital project and multiple LEED sustainable improvements. She also oversaw a multi-million dollar common area enhancement project and served as a construction manager for complicated tenant improvements and capital projects.
Previously in her career, Cindy served as a property manager for JMB Real Estate in Los Angles, where she managed the newly developed Wilshire Bundy Plaza, a 310,000 square foot Class A office building; and as a portfolio manager for the Wallace Moir Company in Beverly Hills, where she oversaw management of 950 residential units, 500,000 square feet of light industrial and 150,000 square feet of low-rise office properties.
